Description
The Macchi MC.202 Folgore marked a major step forward for Italian fighter aviation during World War II. Featuring a refined aerodynamic design and the powerful Daimler-Benz DB 601 inline engine built under license in Italy, the Folgore was capable of matching Allied fighters in combat.
Compared to earlier radial-engine fighters, the MC.202 offered superior speed and maneuverability, reaching approximately 600 km/h. Early versions were armed with two 12.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns, with later variants receiving improved armament.
This Italeri 1:32 kit features modern tooling and an impressive level of detail, including photo-etched parts, movable control surfaces and highly realistic surface engraving.
