Description
The DUKW 2½-ton GMC is one of the most recognizable logistical vehicles of World War II. Based on the standard GMC CCKW-353 6×6 truck, this amphibious version was developed to supply troops during amphibious landings, allowing cargo to be transported directly from ships to shore.
Retaining the reliable GMC drivetrain with a 4,400 cc six-cylinder engine and full six-wheel drive, the DUKW was fitted with a welded watertight hull that enabled both land and water operations.
With a payload capacity of up to 2,400 kg or space for 25 fully equipped soldiers, the DUKW played a vital role in Allied operations, including the Normandy landings. This D-Day Eighty Years edition commemorates 80 years since D-Day with new decals for multiple historical variants.
