In the 1960s, Mercedes-Benz began developing sporty cars with high performance and attention to detail, targeting the growing luxury segment.

The acronym SL, derived from “Sport” and “Leicht,” identifies the various models that evolved over the years.

In the 1970s, the R107 and C107 series were launched in Roadster and Coupé versions, quickly achieving commercial success.

Based on the C107, the top-of-the-line SLC 500 was developed, produced for nearly a decade.

With a 4,973 cc engine producing 237 hp, the Mercedes SLC 500 became a benchmark in the premium market and remains a dream for collectors and classic car enthusiasts today.
