Description
The French 47mm S.A. 37 anti-tank gun represented the peak of French pre-war anti-armor development. Designed as a successor to the lighter 25mm Hotchkiss gun, the Canon de 47 mm modèle 1937 combined mobility with formidable firepower. With the ability to penetrate up to 70 mm of armor at close range, it posed a serious threat to early German Panzer III and IV tanks during the Battle of France.
