Description
The French 47mm S.A. 37 anti-tank gun represented a major leap forward in pre-war French artillery design, replacing the earlier 25mm Hotchkiss with a far more powerful weapon. Developed to counter the rapid evolution of German armored vehicles, it was one of the few Allied anti-tank guns in 1940 capable of defeating early Panzer III and IV tanks.
