The Sd.Kfz. 250/3 Ausf. A was a light armored half-track command and communications vehicle used by the German Army during World War II. It was equipped with long-range radio sets such as FuG 7 and FuG 5 and was easily recognized by its distinctive frame or star antenna.
The vehicle carried a crew of four to five men and was usually armed with one or two MG34 or MG42 machine guns for self-defense. It became well known because Field Marshal Erwin Rommel used a Sd.Kfz. 250/3 as his personal command vehicle in North Africa, nicknamed “Greif”.
