Description
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is one of the most iconic jet fighters in aviation history. Designed as a supersonic interceptor, its extremely slim fuselage and tiny wings allowed it to reach speeds above Mach 2, powered by the General Electric J79 turbojet engine.

The F-104G/S RF version expanded the Starfighter’s role to include tactical reconnaissance using the external Orpheus reconnaissance pod, notably operated by the Italian Air Force. The aircraft retained its armament capabilities, including the M61 Vulcan 20 mm cannon.
