Description
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is one of the most iconic jet fighters in aviation history. Developed in the late 1950s for the U.S. Air Force, it was designed as a high-speed interceptor to counter long-range enemy bombers.
The F-104A was the first operational variant, followed by the F-104C, which adopted a multirole fighter-bomber role and saw service during the early stages of the Vietnam War. Its radical aerodynamic design and powerful General Electric J79 turbojet engine delivered outstanding supersonic performance.
