The Ford Transit is one of the most iconic light commercial vehicles produced for the European market. Its origins date back to 1953, when Ford Germany and Ford Great Britain began developing early utility models. The true milestone arrived in 1965 with the introduction of the first genuine Transit – the Mk I – created under the initiative of Henry Ford and regarded as the foundation of what would become Ford Europe.

In 1978, the redesigned Mk II made its debut, further improving practicality and modernising the vehicle’s appearance. A 1984 update introduced a revised front section and the 2.5-litre York diesel engine producing 68 hp. The Transit became a global success and, through numerous updates, remains in production today for various international markets.
