Description
The Fiat Mefistofele is one of the most extreme and iconic land speed record cars of the early automotive era. Built by Fiat using the old Fiat SB4 chassis and further developed by engineer and driver Ernest Eldridge, it earned its name from the infernal noise produced by its massive aircraft engine, left without exhaust silencers to achieve maximum performance.

On July 12th, 1924, in Arpajon, France, Eldridge set a world speed record of 146.01 mph (over 230 km/h) on the flying kilometer. The extraordinarily long bonnet houses the gigantic Fiat A12 inline six-cylinder aircraft engine with a displacement of over 20 liters.

This Italeri 1:12 scale model kit is a true centerpiece. Featuring more than 500 parts, partial screw assembly, opening engine panels, functional steering, and outstanding detail, it is designed for experienced modelers and collectors of historic record cars.
