Description
The Renault RE20 Turbo is one of the most iconic Formula 1 cars from the early turbo era. Renault was a true pioneer, becoming the first manufacturer to successfully introduce turbocharged engines into Formula 1 competition.
Competing in the 1980 Formula 1 World Championship, the RE20 was powered by the Renault Gordini EF1 V6 turbo engine producing around 520 horsepower. The all-French team featured Jean-Pierre Jabouille (#15) and René Arnoux (#16). During the season, Renault secured three Grand Prix victories in Brazil, South Africa and Austria. The RE20 was further developed and also raced in the early rounds of the 1981 season before being replaced by the redesigned RE30.
This Italeri 1:12 scale kit is a high-end technical model. Featuring over 500 parts, partial screw assembly, working suspension, steerable wheels, a highly detailed turbo engine and removable bodywork, it is an impressive kit for advanced modelers and classic Formula 1 enthusiasts.
