In 1940, at the onset of World War II, the U.S. Army held a competition to develop a light four-wheel-drive vehicle suitable for a variety of roles. The American Bantam Company, Willys Overland Motor, and Ford Motor Company participated. The Willys was ultimately selected and, after a pre-series of 1,500 vehicles starting in 1941, entered mass production with a total of 640,000 units, including 277,000 produced under Ford license.
The Willys Jeep MB became the most-produced military vehicle of World War II. Italeri recreates this legendary vehicle in a detailed 1:24 scale kit, featuring rubber tyres and colour instructions, perfect for collectors and model builders aiming to capture a piece of military history.
