Description
The Panzerkampfwagen IV was employed by the Wehrmacht throughout the entire Second World War, undergoing continuous upgrades and serving as the backbone of the Panzer Divisions on all fronts. The Ausführung H, produced from mid-1943, featured improved offensive capability through the introduction of the 75 mm KwK 40 L/48 gun, which offered greater armour penetration and increased effectiveness against enemy armoured vehicles.

This version often featured Schürzen, additional steel plates mounted along the sides of the hull and around the turret to improve protection against enemy projectiles. The use of side armour was frequently associated with the application of Zimmerit, a cement-based paste applied to reduce the risk of damage from magnetic mines.
