Description
The church of Sainte-Mère-Église in Normandy became world-famous during D-Day on June 6, 1944. American paratrooper John Steele of the 82nd Airborne Division became caught on the church tower during the airborne landings and went on to become one of the most recognisable symbols of the liberation of Normandy.
This impressive COBI building set consists of 2280 pieces and faithfully recreates the church, its distinctive tower, stained-glass windows and surrounding scenery. The roof can be removed to access the interior, and a John Steele paratrooper figure with parachute is included. A striking commemorative model for the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
