Description

The RMS Olympic was the first ship of the famous White Star Line Olympic class and sister ship to the legendary Titanic and Britannic. Launched in 1910, she became one of the best-known ocean liners of her era. Following the Titanic disaster in 1912, Olympic underwent significant safety improvements.

During World War I, Olympic was requisitioned as a troop transport and fitted with defensive armament and distinctive naval camouflage. Nicknamed Old Reliable, she made history on 12 May 1918 when she rammed and sank the German submarine U-103. After the war, Olympic returned to transatlantic passenger service until her retirement in 1935.

This impressive Trumpeter 1:200 scale model kit depicts Olympic in her military troopship configuration. Measuring almost 1.35 metres in length and containing over 1,880 parts, it offers an extensive building project for enthusiasts of historic ocean liners. The kit features a one-piece hull, finely detailed decks, eight photo-etched sheets and a metal anchor chain.
