Description

The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XVIe was one of the later developments of Britain's legendary fighter aircraft. Based on the Spitfire Mk.IX and powered by an American-built Packard Merlin 266 engine, this variant entered service in 1944 and operated as a fighter-bomber over Europe. Its distinctive features included E-type wings, a modified rudder and the characteristic teardrop canopy.

This impressive Tamiya 1:32 scale model kit offers exceptional detail, including a fully reproduced Packard Merlin engine, a highly detailed cockpit with photo-etched components and movable control surfaces. The engine cowling panels are removable using small magnets, allowing the engine to remain visible after assembly. An included display stand allows the aircraft to be presented in flight.
