Bersaglieri – Italian Elite Infantry – 1/56 Scale – Bolt Action
Highly trained marksmen and impressively fit, the Bersaglieri were easily recognised by their distinctive helmets adorned with black capercaillie feathers. As light infantry, they were granted greater independence and encouraged to show initiative—traits that served them well in mobile warfare.
During World War II, these aggressive and motivated troops were equipped with bicycles or motorcycles and operated alongside Italian armoured and motorised divisions. They saw action in France, Greece, East and North Africa, Sicily, and even on the Eastern Front against the Soviet Red Army.
Their courage became legendary—on several occasions, Bersaglieri units fought to the last man even as their German allies retreated.
